July

I can't believe it's JULY. I haven't blogged since DECEMBER.

Things have been crazy. First of all, Chris and I are having a baby.

Lol - just kidding. Promise.

So I guess I'll give a Reader's Digest version of my life.

Since December:

1. We visited our family in Maine for a week (February).

2. I got a promotion! First real job out of college and I love it. (April)

3. We put an offer on a house in Marietta - fingers crossed! I really hope we get it. (June)

4. I lost 14lbs! Apparently marriage makes you eat constantly.

5. We finally got Internet!

This weekend we are going to the North Georgia mountains with Jeff and Lauren. It will be nice to get away for a few days and Bengal loves roadtrips.

I found this picture on my phone today. It's from the week after our honeymoon. I barely knew how to use an oven. I am happy to report that I've made progress since then. It's hard to believe we've almost been married for a year. Time is moving crazy fast. It's easy to say this has been the best year of my life - I'm excited to see what's in the future (it's not babies yet, I promise!).

Until next time!

December

A lot has happened...

Last week Christopherson and I bought our first car! It was so scary. I've looked for a really long time and we finally had the time to go and look. We were not expecting to buy the car that night - but the dealer had different plans, haha. It was a good deal and my dad helped talk the price down (thank GOD he was there). So we are now the proud owners of a 2003 Toyota Corolla! It's stick shift...Chris LOVES it and I am TERRIFIED of it. I drove the car from Walgreens home one night and was panicking the entire time. Chris will be driving the car to work every day so he is thrilled to finally have a car to himself. :)

I've had the best time decorating for Christmas! At the beginning of the month, we went to Pikes and picked out our first Christmas tree as marrieds :).  We got home, made apple cider, turned on Christmas Pandora and decorated away! Bengal even helped. And by help, I mean helped undecorate and sat on the counter. I'm really excited for Christmas - Chris is going to LOVE his presents. :)

I am still looking for a job, but am having a really good time at my internship. I just need to be patient!

We aren't buying groceries this month so dinners have been really interesting. I've made baked spaghetti, various baked chicken dishes, tuna casserole a few times (which is actually pretty good and REALLY easy) and last night I made salmon patties. We have food, we just need to use it all before going to the grocery store and wasting money. We'll just see how long we last. So far, all we've bought this month is milk and bread...which I feel like is pretty essential.

I've started looking online at houses but I'm sure we won't buy one for a few more years. It's just fun to look and see what's out there.

Married life is still fantastic. We have the best time. I am so thankful for such a wonderful, loving (and handsome!) husband. :)
We visited Passion City Church a few weeks ago. It's a pretty cool church. Chris Tomlin is the worship leader...it blows my mind. They kept saying Chris Tomlin this, Chris Tomlin that...and I was thinking...that CAN'T be the actual Chris Tomlin. I pulled out my phone and google image searched him and sure enough...it was the actual Chris Tomlin! The people behind me laughed when they saw me pull up a picture of him. So then OF COURSE I had to take a picture.

Side note: If you have glasses and know your presciption, please do yourself a favor and go to Zennioptical.com. Cheapest glasses (mine were $6.95!) and they are so cute. I got mine a few days ago and haven't wanted to wear my contacts because my glasses rock. See how happy I am in the picture?! You really don't have much to lose...I mean it's either spend $300 on a pair of glasses or try the cheap ones first! If they don't work, then return them and go ahead and get the expensive ones! I feel like I work for this company because I advertise for them so much, haha.

I haven't been as good at blogging as I wanted to be. Maybe it's because I have poor writing skills and my posts are all random jabbling. Jabbling is not a word, but you get my point. I will continue to try.

Easy Dinner

I am going to start blogging about different recipes that I love because:
1. I would like to remember them
2. You should try them ;)

Okay so, last night I got home from work around 5:15pm and we had somewhere to be at 6:30pm. I asked Chris what he wanted for dinner and he suggested beans and cottage cheese. Needless to say, I decided to try something that I thought would be quick, easy and not disgusting.

I remember a few weeks ago watching this video on how to make Chicken Parmesan with croutons.

http://allrecipes.com/video/311/easy-chicken-parmesan-bake/

I was skeptical, but I tried it. The croutons burnt on the top and I wasn't very satisfied with the outcome.

Last night, this video was the first thing that popped into my head. I decided to try the recipe again - from memory, haha. It was so easy and tasted really fantastic. I didn't have croutons, so I substituted with breadcrumbs. I made some corn and some garlic bread (aka a piece of wheat bread with butter and garlic salt ;) ) and it was a full dinner!

Here's what I did - It's so easy.

Here is what you'll need to make a meal for 4:
2 tablespoons of olive oil
4 chicken breasts
3 cups tomato based pasta sauce (I used a sauce with mushrooms and garlic in the mix)
2 cups mozzarella cheese (use more if necessary)
garlic salt, basil, Italian seasoning of choice
salt & pepper
breadcrumbs

Preheat the Oven to 375

1. Take a small casserole dish (size obv. depends on how much you want) and put about 2 tbs of olive oil in the bottom.
2. Take the chicken breasts and salt and pepper them before placing in the dish.
3. Sprinkle on some garlic salt and basil to taste.
4. Cover the chicken with the pasta sauce.
5. Cover the pasta sauce with half the mozzarella cheese until it's mostly covered.
6. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the cheese.
7. Pour the rest of the sauce on top
8. Cover with the rest of the cheese
9. Cover the whole thing in breadcrumbs!
10. Cover the dish with foil and put in the oven for 30 minutes.

It was DELICIOUS only took 10 minutes to prepare. I will def be making this dish over and over!

It's freezing!

I forgot what it felt like to be cold! It's nice though. I said I'd update my blog every week but that might have been a lie.

Anyway! A lot has happened in two weeks but I can't think of anything...I had an interview on Wednesday. I was so nervous but I think I did a really good job. I don't know if I will get the job but I am proud of how I was in the interview.

I'm obsessed with making garlic and cheese biscuits. It's a problem. I have def been gaining weight since marriage and engagement. But that's expected...right? ;)

Wearing heels everyday is starting to get old...I miss college because I could roll out of bed with my long messy hair, throw on a sweat shirt and ugly boots and go! Wearing dresses and panty hose is fun some days - but today is a day that I want to be wearing sweat pants and a hood.
This weekend I plan on relaxing to the max. I am exhausted!

We are visiting Asbury in a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to it. We are so excited! Roadtrips are the best - and this one will be awesome because it's a route that we know so well...but haven't done in forever. If that makes sense. It'll just be a great time and I can't wait to see everyone.

Hopefully next time I have more to write!

I need to start blogging

Blogging seems fun. I want to do it. I love reading other people's blogs so I figure - why don't I actually write in my own? Probably because I'm afraid this will turn into my xanga from high school which is a MAJOR struggle. MAJOR.

But it's a good idea. It's cool to keep track of your life and to update other people. So I will try.

Life is really awesome. Being married is the coolest thing ever - I highly recommend it. Coming home from work everyday and making dinner is something I never thought I would enjoy. I love it. I try new recipes almost every night and I will try to post pictures and maybe even the recipes! Also, Chris is hot.

Blogging would be easier if we had internet. Haha, I'm at work right now. I keep having to switch from this page to Photoshop ;). Not having internet is kind of awesome though. We just hang out. Last night we made dinner and played board games. Haha I am awful at games but it was really fun.

Chris and I have our first weekend off together starting at 5pm today. I am so so so so so excited. I can't wait to see my husband DURING THE DAY! Haha. But seriously. So. Pumped. We are going to a Georgia Tech game tomorrow with a few of our friends and might go to the mountains for the night! Dream life.

I work at a Health Care System in the Marketing department as an intern. It's a really fun job and I get to do a lot of design projects for the hospital.

However, I am ready for a real job. I have been applying basically everywhere. In the meantime I will continue to scan invoices and collect my love offering every pay day. lolol. I really do have a good time at work though!

I miss school. Never thought I would. I miss naps between classes and I miss crazy weekends sleeping in tents and going to Marikas. I'm glad that I am out of Kentucky but part of me really misses it! Especially because that's where Chris and I met and fell in loooove.

We had a baby. His name is Bengal. He's a Bengal cat...clever huh? He's the best cat ever. But kind of scary and really hyper. He growls and eats raw chicken. Nbd.

Oh and one last update - I chopped my hair off and dyed it.  I'm still getting used to it but I think it's cute. I miss my long crazy hair but I knew the time had to come.

I just took this picture at work. I'm glad no one walked in - that would have been embarrassing.
Anyway. I should probably get back to work. I will update this blog once a week. Or try. Next post should have pictures of the apartment! And maybe a few wedding pictures...I have them I just haven't posted them yet. Because I don't have internet.

I don't know why I have a blog. I never update this thing and I hardly log in. But for some reason right now I am typing this. I have nothing profound to say, no big updates on my life...

I'm just happy to be alive. Life is good. :)

Spring Break

It's Spring Break. I am very happy.

You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself.
What you say is completely up to you.
